Local gem
Meshiya Japan - Marketown
Tucked inside the Coles side of Marketown, Meshiya Japan has quickly become my go-to lunch spot for anyone working in town. The menu covers all the Japanese classics, making it an easy choice when you’re craving something filling and flavoursome.
My regular order is either the Katsu Don or the Tonkotsu Ramen, both generous, comforting, and hard to beat for the price. Newcastle isn’t short on great Japanese options, but Meshiya holds its own as one of the best. Ordering is simple through the iPads, service is quick, and the dishes consistently deliver on quality without breaking the bank. Next time you’re in town and in need of a satisfying lunch, Meshiya is well worth a stop.
